Ph.D. Program renamed «Molecular and Translational Biomedicine» (MTB): Our Ph.D. program «Systems Biology of Complex Diseases» has been renamed «Molecular and Translational Biomedicine» (MTB). This was decided by the CC-SPMD Executive Committee and approved by the Directors’ Conference of the Life Science Zurich Graduate School. The change of name became absolutely essential, because the research focus of the Competence Center CC-SPMD evolved more and more into molecular and translational biomedicine with projects ranging from basic molecular physiology and pathophysiology to translational sciences. New group leaders who work in this field already joined the CC-SPMD or will join in the near future. Furthermore, the new title ideally reflects the spirit of the education modules of the focus program «The Metabolic Basis of Disease» which is financed via the SNF/CRUS ProDoc Program since 2012.
